Where the Truth Lies
Well-acted film that showcases the acting talents of Colin Firth & Kevin Bacon. Even though Father Time has caught up with both of these men, they remain very handsome, & sexy, & they both are amazing actors, in their own right. I am very confident that they will both be around for a long time to come, & will have an even larger following than they currently enjoy. This was, indeed, a "whodunnit-type mystery, with a surprise ending, which makes a film worth watching. I mean, who doesn't hate a predictable story? I also viewed it as a love story, that ended in tragedy. It made me think, more than once, "Oh, dear, if only," & I felt great sadness, for two of the characters involved. I want to read the book, now, & I hope that Rupert Holmes will write...or has written...more mysteries for ... Well-acted film that showcases the acting talents of Colin Firth & Kevin Bacon. It was good to see Maury Chaykin, in the role of Sally, the Mafioso-type nightclub owner. You'll remember him from "Mouse Hunt," & "Dances With Wolves." This talented character actor should have more roles, or even be offered a role in a TV series. Back to the film: NOT for family viewing, to be sure!! An Interesting, dark, and twisted film noir Mystery
This movie was very interesting and bizarre too. It has a dark side to it and the characters are really bad people. They lie and hide the truth. A young woman is found dead in the 1950's in the hotel room where Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth are staying. Now, it's 1972, and a young writer is investigating the death for a story. What she doesn't know is she is about to open a big can of messy worms. The story is a little murky and confusing. There are lots of flashbacks but everything is revealed in the end. I recommend this movie but it's for adults only. There are lots of adult situations, drug references, and nudity in this film.This movie was very interesting and bizarre too. Story good, Sex is a bit graphic for my taste.
Another film my sister sent me. Great story, excellent acting, but the girl on girl and boy on boy sex is more than I want to see. After all I do have an imagination. But the premesis of the story was excellent. Good writing begets good films, even if the sex-o-inuendo is a bit much. Max Rainet.
