About this product

Product Information

Taking its cue from the cartoon show, Max Steel: Covert Missions sees the nano-technology enhanced protagonist embark on a quest to rescue his boss from the terrorist group D.R.E.A.D, and eliminate the threat their new biological weapon poses to the world. In this third-person adventure title, players will need to make use of Max's various abilities as they make their way through eight levels spanning locales such as the junkyard, dockside, and N-Tek headquarters. When in stealth mode, Max can slip by unsuspecting enemies unnoticed, or by "Going Turbo" he can increase his strength and speed for limited periods of time.

More rudimentary abilities, such as climbing and jumping, are also available. Throughout the adventure, players will obtain weapons and gadgets that will aid their quest, from sniper rifles to machine guns to trip wires. Hand-to-hand combat is common in the game, and players will need to use an assortment of punches and kicks to neutralize the henchman and other such enemies that stand in the way. Health and armor items can be found inside crates scattered throughout the levels.

Familiar faces from the cartoon show will appear throughout the title and Josh McGrath's alter-ego Max Steel will encounter allies such as Roberto Martinez and Max's mentor Rachel, along with villains such as Psycho and Dawn. Breaking up the action elements of the title, players will need to solve puzzles or find keys and passwords in order to progress further into enemy territory and towards the final confrontation. Along the way, Max will face off against boss characters such as living slime creatures and robots.

  • MAX STEEL - DREAMCAST

MAX STEEL follows the exploits of Josh McGrath, your average, extreme sports-loving teenager. Average, that is, until his father's experiments with nanotechnology at an anti-terrorist organization called N-TEK accidentally invade Josh's body, turning him into the techno superhero known as MAX STEEL. One of N-TEK's foes, a terrorist group known as Dread led by the evil Dawn Shadow hopes to turn the world's population into mindless zombie slaves. It's up to you, as Max, to put an end to Dawn's plan by blasting through seven unique levels of action and puzzle solving. Max will have to put his fighting and weapons mastery to good use, as well as Nano-Tek upgrades that will enhance his superhuman abilities. There will be a number of tricky puzzles for Max to figure out, so it'll take more than ...

  • Steel is apparently not that covert...

Good graphics and good voice acting can't cover up the bad gameplay. the controls were so sticky, I had to put in another game to make sure my controller wasn't messed up, apparently the controller was just fine.

  • meh...

The game is not very good. There is not much to it and quite frankly, it is very boring IMO. I played it for about an hour and got through 2 levels and it wasn't very fun. I can't even imagine kids getting into it. I only recomend you get this for a video game/dreamcast collection. If you are a collector.

  • Not Steller but needed for collection!

I didn't really expect much from this game and actually only purchased it for collection reasons. However, I really didn't find the game all that bad (I've played way worse on the Dreamcast) and actually intend to play through and finish it.
