The Hexagon end of the spring is if 'plastic type' material. The original spring that I had , the end hexagon head was metal. The spring worked fine when used but still I wish it was metal. Other than that I dnt have any concerns. Item works great.

I installed the 80-89 pound spring in my 74 pound garage door but it's not strong enough to lift the door. We tightened the spring till it bottomed out and there is still 35 pounds left to lift. The spring looks like it has a tan colored paint mark on it. Not sure if it's color coded or just over spray. Please advise. Thanks, Mike

The spring was a little smaller in diameter which made me skeptical in the beggining but it worked great. The end that connects with the gear is metal compare to the plastic one on the original. My door is functional again. Hopefully it will last a few years. Based on my experience , I would buy again from this seller.
