  • Great priced wireless modem with a sleek design!

I purchased the Cisco Linksys E2000 N Wireless Router for presentations on how to set up a secure wireless home network that I was giving in a few local libraries. All of the articles I read on the E2000 seemed to indicate that it was easy to setup. This was important to me, as the audience that I was giving the presentation to were not network gurus. The setup and instruction CD was very easy to use and worked perfectly to install the secure network. After I am finished with the demo’s, I plan to install it on my own home network. With that in mind, the E2000 seemed like a good fit, both in the high performance and the pricing. Plus, as an extra bonus it has a sleek design with no antenna's sticking up out of the back of it. I highly recommend that you take a look at the Cisco Linksys ...

  • Not impressed.

The router is indeed an attractive one. However, before installing this router I was using a much older linksys router with antennas that was only wireless B & G and did not have much range so I was hoping that this newer router which claimed to have extended range would work much better. Especially since its also a wireless N router and backwards compatible with B & G. But it wasn't the case. The router is installed in our bedroom which is on the 1st floor. The reason being that my main computer that I game on is on the 1st floor and I wanted it to be hardwired into the modem instead of being wireless which would cause me to have to buy a wireless card. My laptop which is on the 2nd floor and the my samsung tv which also receives wireless get even less signal than before! The ...

  • Power cord name confusing

The router works as expected and appears in good condition. The power cord refers to an AC adaptor, shipped with the router and required to power it up. An AC adaptor like this has 3 key numbers that define it: the input AC (line) voltage, the output (DC) voltage, and the output current. All 3 of these were wrong for the application. The input voltage was suitable for the US only (110 VAC) despite being shipped to Europe (which needs 220 VAC). The output voltage was 7.5 volts, but the router requires 12 volts. The output current was 350 milli-amps (0.35 A) and the router requires 1 amp. I threw the adaptor away; its value would be less than the cost of shipping it back. I am lucky, I had a spare available. Others should beware.
