    I first saw Blue Oyster Cult when they were starting off before they became famous later in the 70's. I'm from the Greater Northern Worcester County area in Massachusetts and were playing with another famous well-known band, Aerosmith. This was sometime before or around 1972. What a great show they put on together,(although I can still barely remember it, c'mon, it was the 70's). Both bands at the time were nobodies, but time told the tale, and look where they are in rock history. After picking up B. O. C.'s first album, (yes, it was the original vinyl on the Columbia record label) I knew that they were very good, as well as Aerosmith's first (got that one in college) and had seen them playing in the area venues. But this did help the U. S. rock void where the British bands were influxing ...

    A look in the wayback machine

    This is right on the fringe of being 60's go-go music on a few tracks, It shows a turning point between the 1960's style and the harder 1970's sound. Just one listen to the "Cities on Flame with rock and roll" will give you a taste of the sound of the next two releases. Overall great guitar work, weird lyrics, and a Greenwich village club stye of the time. Get it if you are curious or are rounding out your collection.

    Remastered BOC

    I LOVE the sound on this remastered CD. The original album was always really dark and muddy sounding and the remastering job is superb. This is how the album was supposed to sound. I purchased this CD on the recommendation of the members at the Buck Dharma web site and was not disappointed at all. If you're a BOC fan and don't have this, get it!
