This is a beautiful and irresistible blend of classical and folk music. The music has a very soothing sound which can really help you unwind from a busy day. You can almost feel yourself transported to the luscious green fields and blue seas of the beautiful landscape of Ireland, or pop into a pub for a whiskey and a pint of ale. Turlough O’Carolan is recognized by most Irish audiences as the country’s first national composer. Not a bad honor for someone who had no formal musical training! He composed hundreds of songs, and being blind from the age of 18, he couldn’t write any of them down. Many compositions have survived, though, thanks to all of the musicians who handed them down verbally to other musicians. This is a must have CD for your collection. If you’ve never listened to ...
