The Story Begins
My husband & I have watched this movie several times, & it is safe to say that this has always been one of his favorites. When the new 4th movie in the series became available, i decided to find them all. Number one wasn't as easy to find as two, three, & four, but I managed to find the first one, & we watched it the other night. There is lots of action to keep you on the edge of your seat in this science fiction film. Shocking to see such a young Mel Gibson, also! No complaints on the acting or the story line. Say what you will about Mel Gibson's problems in the recent past. If you can't separate and actors acting life from his real life then you'd have to boycott half of Hollywood. This is a young Mel Gibson in the infancy of his acting career and a pretty damn good movie.

I saw this movie in 1981 in Germany. Mel Gibson was unknown in the U.S. at that time. Mad Max made him a movie star in every sense of the word. A movie produced on a low budget in Australia became a phenomenon. Watching Mel Gibson in his early 20's, wearing a black leather uniform and defeating the baddies, is a feast for the eyes.
