Although the item arrived as I’ve been away it still tells me it has not arrived? Very strange. Firstly this order was like buying something from a silent seller , I had to ask a couple of questions and got no answer & on opening the item was packed from top to bottom I cut the strap 😩not the best shopping experience I’ve had but the strap is what I wanted

Less substantial, but very efficient and easy to use!

Feels significantly less substantial and lesser quality, than say a CoolPix 8700. With less heft, no comfortable grips, no tilt-screen and you have to manually open the flash.... this camera feels cheaper for sure. HOWEVER -- it is such an fantastic bare bones model for taking snapshots and simple photos for online!! GREAT zoom, macro, custom scenes and it is much more USER FRIENDLY! The menus are easy to switch between and the trigger response it great too. I really like the P80. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great camera at a great deal!

  • Nikon Coolpix P80 Underestimated Digital Camera

I ordered this digital camera for several reasons. First, it is a Nikon and I've owned at least a dozen Nikon cameras and lenses. Second, it was small, great optical zoom and good pixel rating. I didn't think it was going to be an outstanding piece of photography equipment because of the price. I was DEAD wrong. This camera takes amazing pictures. The "VR" allows for taking images even when you have shaky hands. Zoom is ultra clear and even in low light doesn't magnify the movement noticeably. Controls are easy to use and precise. There are a couple negative features or lack of that concern me. First, the main control on the back just above the menu button is in the wrong place. You can't turn the camera on or off if you are touching this button. This is where ...

  • Good overall camera - Decent macro mode for the money.

I purchased this camera new a couple of years ago, primarily to take better photos for my eBay listings. Overall, the camera has done what I have asked of it fairly well and I feel it was a good value for the price. I sell quite a few coins on eBay and taking photos of such items requires a decent macro mode on the camera. Of course, the best option would be a DSLR camera witha great macro lens for around 5-10x the money. But with this camera, the macro mode is good enough to take decent images of small items like coins. Of course, larger coins like half dollar and silver dollars come out very clear and detailed. But when imaging smaller coins like cents or dimes, the images can be a little grainy, even on the highest quality setting which is 10.1 megapixels. Also, the camera is now ...

  • Great camera at a great price, a fun way to be serious

When I started shooting photos for my Ebay listings, I was really a novice, so bought an older Nikon coolpix, and it opened up a new world for me. The early one took rechargable batteries and was kind of a pain as the batteries didn't last long enough. However, my shots really began to improve with the purchase of a Coolpix P80, a camera model which by now is almost outdated-- as Nikon does nothing but continue to improve its cameras. I really love the camera not only for good shots of merchandise so long as the light is decent, but also I like to take it on road trips and shoot pictures right out of the car window. There are many editing programs out there to use with your completed shots, and I generally crop things and straighten them. Another feature that is a real plus is ...

  • Nikon's Point-N-Shoot P80

I bought this camera for my wife. It is her first digital camera. She loves photography and does it for the pure joy of a beautiful picture. Strictly amateur but she has taken some great pictures. She found the P80 to be pretty easy to learn for basic shooting. Also liked the pre-programmed scenes that Nikon has on all their cool-pix cameras. This model is out of manufacture now, but that means there are some great deals on it available. I like the 18x zoom but you need pretty good light. In poor light the quality suffers. Taking photos in the shadows in the park work ok but do not show the resolution of photos taken in bright sun. Battery life seems really good. The flash has pretty good reach. My wife's old camera's flash only seemed to work up to about 7 or 8 feet and then ...
