A marvelous reboot that should not be passed up!
This game is very enjoyable and the gameplay never has a dull moment. The controls are very responsive and the 'build your own' combo aspect makes every play through unique. The level designs are a new creative approach to the series and are just plain awesome. The only take away I would say are the few moments during cutscenes when the frame rate drops and the story is quite short. There is however bonus content and the game has high replay value. DmC Devil May Cry is a must play title. Ignore the 4/5. I'd give it a 9/10.This game is very enjoyable and the gameplay never has a dull moment. A passable action game with the baggage of being a Devil May Cry game.
A passable action game with the unfortunate baggage of carrying the brand name that is synonymous with well designed, super fast, slick, action. The game's controls are pretty convoluted but (hey they do work), bosses are the low point of the game, platforming is repetitive, story is disgusting, and later portions of the game the combat becomes too predictable and tedious. The game certainly isn't Devil May Cry but the early mission do provide some fun once you get past the fact that the game isn't DMC3 or 4. Underrated
This is easily the best entry in the DMC series! Good soundtrack, good renaissance asthetic in the levels, and a very friendly combat system that does a good job of show you the moves and all their pros and cons to have you mastering combos by the ending; making you feel like you weren't babied by tutorials or dropped into the middle of the ocean and forced to swim.
