Too be honest, I was a little worries purchasing this from an exporter, but it arrived fast and looks to be factory sealed and a nice instrument. Preamp is pretty noisy, but I will address that directly with yamaha, not sellers issue. One thing I will say is that you should know that seller passes on import fee, so I was sent an invoice for an additional $60 from fedex. Not a big Deal because it was a great price, just an fyi for newbies of international sales. Thanks for a nice instrument!

    AKG C 451 B

    It's no coincidence that AKG is on the top of the Mic world. AKG new C 451 B is the perfectly example why they're so successful within the recording business. I was surprise when I first heard about the mic reissue and now I must confess I'm very happy with the purchase. It's one of those mics with multiple uses weather your recording drums, acoustic guitars, percussion, etc. Its a small diaphragm condenser mic with a cardioid pattern that sounds very very crisp and clear with a lot of details on highs and mids without getting those unwanted "essers". Chunky output levels with zero noise. Fully recommended!

    Buy these microphones for overhead duties, perfect for acoustic guitar too.

    Bought these mics for overhead drum duties, I was looking for a nice bright sound to complement my AEA R88 which is slightly dark. There was slight smudges and signs of use but overall they looked good. I used these on a session last weekend, I plugged one in, sounded great, plugged in the other and got buzzing. Long story short it was a ground loop via a bad cable. Both were working perfectly and required no EQ.

    AKG 451 B

    These mics are an excellent mic for overhead drum, hihats, acoustic guitar, strings. Its quality sets itself above an AKG C1000s so you get what you pay for. I'm not knocking the C1000 because I own a couple of those and use them but put the 451 in the place of greatest need for clarity. You won't be disappointed.
