I recently replaced a headlight bulb on my 2005 Mk4 Jetta and the headlight fuse blew shortly thereafter. Close inspection revealed dried/cracked insulation on both left and right headlight wires as well as turn signal wires; the bare wires had shorted and blown the fuse. Appears this is a common problem with Mk4 headlight assemblies and it requires replacement of both harnessess. I installed the new harnessess without having to remove the headlights. It was a quick simple fix - thanks Tony!

Every now and then you find something on the internet that makes you praise its existence. These save me hundreds of dollars. The creator of these wiring harness is a god amongst men. Thinking so far ahead as to not put one of the plugs on the wires to allow you to wire it through the tights spaces. A++ he is my internet hero for the month.
