      OEM Direct Replacement

      Great OEM replacement to a 5 year old cap with a worn o-ring. I can't begin to count the number of times that I have filled the gas tank and opened/closed the cap and some wear did occur resulting in leaks while operating. This new cap solved the leak problem!

      The experience with the seller was not a problem

      The cap is way overpriced. I don't blame the seller but Briggs & Stratton. The design is ridiculous i.e. one quarter turn removes the cap. If you are trimming under bushes it becomes undone, often. If you do not notice it right away, you can get moisture or debris in your tank and the flimsy teather can pull away from the tank and the cap is lost. This is why i needed to buy this new cap. My old B&S mower had a cap that screwed on and could be snugged down which prevented it's undoing by the nefarious bushes. B&S has gone the way of so many other "American" companies; cheap.

      The gas cap that kept coming loose

      Overall it's not a bad product, but the o-ring is too small and doesn't have enough friction to keep the cap from vibrating loose, even under normal use. It was driving me nuts because I couldn't mow 10 feet without it jigging loose which would splash gas all over the place. I look in my o-ring supply and found a thicker one that fit. The thicker o-ring has enough friction to keep the cap from vibrating loose & I was able to mow just fine from then on. So as long as you have a thicker o-ring to use, or can get one, then it works just fine. Otherwise it just doesn't work & is basically dangerous.

      Gas Cap Only

      The item is OEM part. Has a factory issue in that it doesn’t lock on securely. Seems like the gasket is too thin.
