    Inspiring true Story

    Had watched this movie before. Needed to see it again. Only problem with this movie is I wish it was longer. It is engaging, informative, and based on a true story. The characters do a great job in their roles. You forget they are acting. The story line is one that keeps your interest and makes you feel good by the end.

    Excellent story about autism & the cattle industry

    I expected TEMPLE GRANDIN to be about an autistic woman who achieves success despite her autism...and learned she instead achieves success BECAUSE OF her autism! Due to the fact that her mind works differently than the average person's, Temple was able to visualize patterns and machinery that a non-autistic brain lacks the capacity to do. She was also able to perceive the world the way an animal does; again, something she could not have done had she not been autistic. I also expected this movie to be grimly serious, but it had moments of great humor as well as poignancy. Claire Danes, a beautiful actress, managed to transform herself perfectly into the gawky, dorky, somewhat-masculine Grandin. I couldn't believe my eyes! This film succeeds in getting across the message that ...

    Quite a Surprise...

    ...Never heard of the person, but when the movie came out both my wife and daughter declared they'd read a great book about her, and to rent the movie. The story is impressive and inspiring, and quite a triumph for the lead actress, who does a superb job in the title role. A bold and often funny movie about someone with the disability (autism) to have to interact and to see the world very differently, and frankly doesn't let anything get in the way of being all that she can be. ...And that "all" is a lot. ...And the story isn't over yet! Bravo to a lovely, dynamic life and to a fine, inspiring movie.

    Temple Grandin DVD hits the ball out of the park!

    Autism or Asperger Syndrome, as it is called by many, can be confusing and this movie is a good introduction for those who are unfamiliar with it. The writing and directing are impressive and the actors are superbly cast. Claire Danes does a wonderful job of helping the audience get to know Temple Grandin; a very successful scientist, animal behaviorist and advocate for autistic individuals. Julia Ormond and David Strathairn also do an incredible job in this film. This is a wonderful movie for families, and a great resource for educators and employers. It may also be helpful for students who share classes with people on the Autism spectrum and for co-workers. Although Autism impacts everyone differently, this movie gives some excellent observations on the thought processes and problems ...

    If you are a person who has been told your worthless=watch this dvd.

    This is a must see esp. for parents with children with special needs. Shows how important the role is for the parents with this type of child. Clare Danes does a fantastic job and when I first saw this I was amazed at the tenacity of Temple Grandin. It also shows how important it is for John Q. Public to help, not to stare or put down children who are different or who learn at different levels. Temple Grandin against all odds made a difference not only in the livestock community but as a spokesperson for autism. It really show how special people stepped forward to help her.
