The Sting is about as good as a movie gets to be!
The Sting is absolutely one of the very finest movies ever to come from Hollywood or anywhere else in the world for that matter. Robert Redford and Paul Newman are unforgettable in this once in a lifetime level of great achievement in truly remarkable roles they will be always remembered for. If you do not have The Sting in your movie collection you will be in an impoverished state of being in that you will miss out, have no doubts about that whatever! We paid $30 here for a retail copy before we discovered ebay and we didnt regret doing so! The tale is immensely clever and the plot awesome! You absolutely will not believe the curves thrown at you during the unfolding of this movie about con men with a heart taking on an Irishman with some character as well. Con men versus the Swindlers
One of my favorite movies depicting the era of big crooks and the small guy trying to survive the injustices during the Great Depression. Robert Redford and Paul Newman come together again as they did in their previous encounter of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The movie is very well directed and it keeps the audience focused on how the little guy overcomes the formidable task of conquering the evil which controlled a large metropolis. Overall I recommend this movie for the chemistry between these actors -Redford/Newman is very good and very well worth watching. Lastly the sound track produced Marvin Hamlish is very good and memorable.One of my favorite movies depicting the era of big crooks and the small guy trying to survive the injustices during the Great Depression. Worth watching time and again...
I remember seeing The Sting while my family was on vacation in Florida. Having a streaker show up at the beginning of the movie rather helped to cement the memory (although -- couldn't really see much as the runner was just in front of the movie screen while the movie was playing...). I finally decided to get the DVD recently -- it is still very much a fun movie to watch. Plot is complex, acting superb, costumes and set design all were fantastic. Redford and Newman together -- what else can I say? The movie is very interesting to watch time and again. I highly recommend "The Sting" for your DVD collection. I enjoyed the DVD extras on this 2005 release of the movie -- much more insights to the plot, acting, and overall making of the movie. If you're a student of films -- get the ... A great classic movie!
This is one of the very best movies ever made! The entire cast is outstanding and you won’t be disappointed! It’s a smart, entertaining story and very family friendly. No profanity, no sex, just great acting! The bonus disc is great too! Gives lots of information on the story, actors and music.
