The animated world DANGERMOUSE and his sidekick Penfold inhabited was a popular part of children's television during the 1980s. When their boss Commander K. comes calling, the two London-based sleuths know they'll have a tough crime to crack, usually involving the dastardly Baron Silas Greenback and his sidekick, Stiletto. It features the eponymous Danger Mouse, a British mouse who works as a secret agent. The show is a loose parody of British spy fiction, particularly James Bond and the Danger Man series starring Patrick McGoohan. Some influence clearly also came from the Sherlock Holmes novels of Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle, as seen in references such as the location of his post box-home (Baker Street) and his attitude to his bumbling, Watson-like assistant Penfold. The show originally ran in the United Kingdom from 1981 ... BRITAIN'S GREATEST IS NOW ON DVD...WHERE HE BELONGS !!!
To those who remember the "white wonder", it's about time !!! AND THE BEST PART OF THE DEAL ??? I am getting the whole ten yards here; OR should I say the whole ten seasons for a BARGAIN PRICE. The way I see it, it is a shame that this seller wants to give stuff away; but that's business !!! To those of you wishing to take advantage as I did, be prepared asto what you are getting. I first saw DANGERMOUSE when it had its initial run on NICKLELODIAN back in the 1980's. Nothing much to it, but the sharp wit reminded me of ROCKY & BULWINKLE, so I was hooked. As to this particular release, we are getting the original BRITISH version here, NOT THE ONE on US cable. It would appear that the Brits are not into 'political correctness' as we are, so expect some edgier characterizations than ... To those who remember the "white wonder", it's about time !!! AND THE BEST PART OF THE DEAL ??? I am getting the whole ten yards here; OR should I say the whole ten seasons for a BARGAIN PRICE. If you liked DM when it came out this is fantastic. I saw some but not all that many of them in the 80's so to get the complete collection great. My whole family watches it with me and my two teen daughters like it as much as me. If you don't like tons of title sequences (many of the episodes are split into 5 short parts with titles between each one) you might get annoyed but to us that's part of the fun. And of course not every episode is a gem (Count Duckula really sucks - Cor!) but to get this much entertainment at this kind of price doesn't happen too often anymore.If you liked DM when it came out this is fantastic. Danger is his middle name....
This is an excellent set that I picked up at a ridiculously low price. i remember as a 5 year old in the 80s watching Danger Mouse every night at 7:30 before I went to bed. I love this show and have not seen it since 1986, so this was a great trip down memory lane. If you watched this show as a kid, I highly recommend it, or if you have kids and want a cartoon that was actually well written, well animated and not a piece of ADD crap like today's cartoons, buy this set.This is an excellent set that I picked up at a ridiculously low price. i remember as a 5 year old in the 80s watching Danger Mouse every night at 7:30 before I went to bed. I watched these with my kids when they were young. Adults and children alike will simply love Dangermouse (Secret Agent) and (my favorite) Penfold his sidekick. British humor that is delightful and nothing in the way of bad language. Great for all ages and you get ALL 89 episodes including the ones never aired. This is good clean fun and much better then what they call cartoons today. So parents and Grandparents spend some very enjoyable time watching these with the kids.I watched these with my kids when they were young.
