Product Information

The first three episodes of the series that featured the popular puppet creations of Jim Henson are collected here, in addition to a cartoon called "The Great Fraggle Freeze," and a featurette entitled "Fraggle Songs: a 45 Minute Musical History of Fraggle Rock." In "Beginnings," Gobo's Uncle Matt has managed to leave the Fraggle caves and venture into "outer space," which is his term for our world. Marjory the Trash Heap is wary of this development, while Gobo waits at home for postcards from his uncle. Then, when Wembley is captured by the Giant Gorgs, Gobo, Red, Mokey and Boober undertake a mission to get him back in "Wembley and the Gorgs." Unfortunately, they get into more trouble than they bargained for along the way, and soon need a rescue party of their own! Red has been planning a swim show that looks like it might not come off when a drought afflicts Fraggle Rock; the pipe bangers' magic isn't working and Red just doesn't know what to do. But he just might be able to work some magic of his own, with a little help from his friends.

    Fraggle Rock - Where it all began

    Fraggle rock was a great HBO TV show for kids of all ages. It first aired when my daughter was 3. We did not have HBO, but would head to my parents every Sunday to watch it. Several weeks ago, I was at her place for dinner, she is now 27. She and her friend were talking about how much they loved that show. They started to reminisce about Red, the doozers, Marjorie, Sprocket,etc. All of a sudden they both started to sing the theme song. "Dance your cares away. Worries for another day. Let the music play. Down at Fraggle Rock!!" What memories it brought back. As a parent, I loved the show. It dealt with complex issues such as prejudice, social conflict and the environment. They did not try to simplify the issues, but rather took them head on in a very sincere, amusing way. I loved the ...

    Decent, But Obsolete

    Let's start off by pretending that the first season of Fraggle Rock is NOT on DVD now. This DVD is great for children. After all these years, no child can resist The Muppets! Fraggle Rock will keep children entertained...but it will also entertain those who grew up watching it. Nostalgia seems to be popular right now! This DVD gives us the first few episodes....but, getting back to reality, this DVD is obsolete because of the fact that the first season is out as a DVD box set. You're much better off getting that. If you're just looking for a cheap buy to satisfy your children for a few hours, then this DVD is fine. If you're looking to get your Fraggle fix, then I suggest splurging on the box set. Overall, the quality is good and you will enjoy it.

    fraggle rock - can it ever get old?

    We brought the fun of fraggles, gorgs, doozers and sprocket the dog into our home for the first time this spring. I grew up on the HBO hit, but not my husband. I wanted to share with him and kids the great antics of these clever yet ignorant fraggles. All these creatures share the world and don't even realize the impact they have on each other. Always funny and ususlly a good moral at the end - better work than the muppet show if you can believe that!! Jim Henson out did himself enjoy!

    See How It All Began

    Many people, including myself, started watching Fraggle Rock from somewhere in the middle without knowing the answer to key questions: Why do the Fraggles stay underground? Why does the uncle send bizarre letters regarding his adventures in the human world? Well this DVD answers these questions and others within the first episode! Also, as adults, both my wife and myself can appreciate the hidden humor that we couldn't as children. This DVD brings back great memories and would be a great addition to anyone's collection.
