    all I expected and more

    I never realized Rick Derringer had so much energy. At the end of rock and Roll Hoochie Koo he does a solo for 4 minutes. Not my kind of solo with a crescendo, climax and a decrescendo. Rather it's pretty much a climax from beginning to end. Although it feels like he was jamming my frequencies I kinda like it. It's a good album to play if you have a bunch of guys with too much testosterone over watching football. Or if your girlfriend is really wild.The music is all about partying and having a good time. Not at all mellow. It's just fun and will get you in the mood for a cold one. I especially like the terrific version of Hang on Sloopy. Just can't get tired of that song. The fun Rick and his friends have on this album is contagious.

    SAD BUT TRUE STORY. IF YOU LIKE BLUES GUITAR, GET THIS. IN MY OPINION THIS HAS BEST VERSIONS OF, ROCK & ROLL HOOCHIE KOO, AND HANG ON SLOOPY. AND RIGHT PLACE, WRONG TIME FEATURING DR. JOHN AND EDGAR WINTER. ALSO ALL THE YOUNG DUDES (MEDLEY) WITH IAN HUNTER. THIS IS AND ALWAYS BE A CLASSIC LIVE SHOW!! IF YOU CAN FIND IT, BUY IT, YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID!!

    Friends to the rescue

    When Rick and the bands van with all their equipment and instruments was stolen, They put a concert together so the band could replace their things. Guest stars the likes of Hall & Oates, Ian Hunter, Edgar Winter and Dr. John with Rick and the band make for a Great Concert!

    Rick Derringer - King Biscuit - excellent!

    Well, this is a nice release as are many of the King Biscuit releases. I'm pretty sure that the KB catalog is out of print, so you'll need to grab this while you can. First of all, the sound quality is excellent from the master reels. The performance is top notch as every Derringer release I've heard; there are some nice adds to this piece with Ian Hunter, Dr. John and long time friend Edgar Winter. Great performance and excellent sound quality - a must have - funbebop !

    Hang on Sloopy!

    This is a very high energy set where Rick and several of his friends get together and just rock it live! One of my favorite classic rock songs of all time "Rock n Roll Hoochie Koo" sounds smokin' awesome on this live and I'm an OSU Buckeyes fan and our theme-song for our football team is the old classic "Hang on Sloopy" and it is at the end of this disk, what a great set of songs on this disk!
