Seller packed it perfectly and it arrive fast and safe. Gorgeous frame. Just wish they had included in the description that it was missing the back piece. The only thing covering the back was velvet. So it is going to be an extra cost to fix it and add that part so it’s stable enough to hang on the wall. Item was not cheap so I was a little disappointed. I'm sorry this disappointed you in not having a back. We've never had one of these in which a "back piece" was present. I could be wrong but I believe any backing was added by the original consumer much like buying a custom made frame today--no backs. In secondary use I have seen these with fabric backs (which is what the one you bought has) and in some cases a wood backing which was not present at manufacture but a later addition.
