    Galaxy Quest .. superstar!

Galaxy Quest is the ultimate Sci-Fi parody of all time! Great tale, great cast, great effects.. an unforgettable experience... An inspiring tale of how one can step out of their assigned roles in Life and be more than they ever imagined!

  • One thing remembered from a commencement speech

Dr. Arn of Hillsdale College recommended this movie during his commencement speech. He was introducing Tim Allen, thus the connection. Dr. Arn rated the movie highly, remarking his family love it. My husband asked me to find the DVD and order it. He tells me the movie is very entertaining and is pleased with the quality of the DVD.

  • galaxy quest

As a rule I hate spoof movies. This one is the exception that proves the rule. I think the difference is that so many spoof movies are just mocking and even if a phrase or scene is funny, it none-the-less leaves an uncomfortable feeling in your heart because everyone knows what it is to be the butt of someone else's joke and no one likes it. The difference here is that while quite obviously a take off on Star Trek and the peculariar world of Trekkies, or Trekkers as the case may be, this one has an actual story in its own right. So rather than just mocking something else, they use the genre to develop their own story - and a very entertaining one at that. All the actors do a super job with their roles and seem to have a good rapport as a cast. I snorked myself silly rewatching this ...

  • Great goofy/spoofy movie

I had to have this movie after seeing it on TV a few times. Yes its simple, goofy, comedy, and not all that deep...but its fun and great for kids too. This movie makes me laugh more than many pure comedies, and I like Star Trek and other scifi also. Even if you don't, this is not just a Trek spoof it is more than that. In fact it is only a Trek spoof in a round-about way. However I give top marks to any movie that makes me laugh often as there are not that many of them. It is a funny story with a cast that is more than their sum of talents, and one of Tim Allen's best roles in my opinion. Sometimes I like to get right inside a movie, but other times I just want some easy *entertainment* that makes me laugh and this is it! I would not call it a stupid movie; it does have a plot with some ...

  • Star Trek spoof is hilarious!

Making fun of the original Star Trek series is nothing new. Comedians have been doing it for years! You've seen it done in standup routines as well as skits on various shows. Now comes the 1st feature length motion picture to poke fun at the ground breaking, but low budget vintage space series. Tim Allen stars as Jason Nesmith, an actor who's only claim to fame is the fact that he played Captian on the long defunct TV series "Galaxy Quest". The show, like the real 'McCoy' has an enormous cult following & Nesmith makes the rounds at conventions with his former crew. Nesmith loves the attention & feeds off the adoration of his fans. His crew is not so enthusiastic. Gwen DeMarco (Sigourney Weaver) is the lone female & is pretty much tired of being ogled by fan boys who only ask her questions ...
