About this product

Product Information

This work focuses on how the automobile giant GM reinvented the Corvette, a car which became legendary soon after its original release in 1953. It explains how dedicated designers, engineers and executives, eventually managed to produce the fifth-generation Corvette, which was originally meant to be released in 1993, but was delayed due to GM experiencing extreme financial problems. It is also a revealing account of the inner workings of the automobile industry.

  • If you own, or want to own, a C5 Corvette, you'll love this book.

My Corvette is not red, it's Pewter, but this is a great book with so much history about the fight by the GM Corvette team to finally get the C5 'Vette made. It's an easy read and keeps your interest in the struggles and the bureaucratic frustrations at GM in the late 80's and early 90's of the Corvette design team to complete an entirely new Corvette design. And, what a great car it is!

  • Average condition; cleaned the jelly off the cover.

Short chapters, easy reading. Heard about the book from a friend. Great insight into big corporate America and how the changing winds can derail directives that make sense. Bottom line profit is the determining factor for everything GM does. Very insightful story.

  • All Corvettes Are Red

A very good book, not just about an iconic car, but a real indepth look at one of the USAs biggest manufacturers. You can read between the lines and really understand why General Motors was ripe for the picking when the Japanese car manufacturers made thier play in the US car market. If you like to know more about Corvette, or GM this is the book.

  • Must read for Corvette lovers!

This was a great well written book. Maybe a bit slow for the first hundred pages but after that it takes off like 505HP Z06 on a drag strip!
