Synopsis
In their most daring misadventure, the Baudelaire orphans are adopted by very, very rich people, whose penthouse apartment is located mysteriously close to the place where all their misfortune began. Even though their new home in the city is fancy, and the children are clever and charming, Im sorry to say that still, the unlucky orphans will encounter more disaster and woe. In fact, in this sixth book in A Series of Unfortunate Events, the children will experience a darkened staircase, a red herring, an auction, parsley soda, some friends in a dire situation, a secret passageway, and pinstripe suits. Both literary and irreverent, hilarious and deftly crafted, A Series of Unfortunate Events offers an exquisitely dark comedy in the tradition of Edward Gorey and Roald Dahl. Lemon Snickets uproariously unhappy books continue to win readers, despite all his warning. • TWISTS AND TURNS

Another great Lemony Snicket book! Just when it looks like the Baudelaires have landed a nice, new home in an enormous posh penthouse, they discover that one of the guardians doesn't care for them at all, and the other--though nice--is afraid of confrontation and entirely apathetic. The Baudelaire orphans seem to be consistently plagued with adults who won't fight for them or believe them when they discover Count Olaf's evil plans. These books are filled with twists and turns. Some series can be read without reading the previous books, but in this case, it would be beneficial to read "The Austere Academy" prior to "The Ersatz Elevator." There are important characters from the Academy who make an appearance in Elevator. Highly recommended series!

  • Great read !!!!

after having purchased my first slightly used book from ebay, i've since started checking u for all my other book needs. Once again i have found another great deal with the recent purchase of The Ersatz Elevator by Lemony Snicket. Again this item was slightly used but in good overall condition. i would recommend this book for someone who likes to read childrens books. there is no difficulty understand or following the story line. thank you,

  • Completed my collection

Super cute series. I've read it multiple times and also read it to/with my kiddo.

  • What In The World?

Ok first of all I think it could of had a better plot. I mean the Baudelaire never get to save the Quagmire siblings and they never get a happy ending. I mean I know people say that it's how it's supposed to be but still they could of made it a little better. I just dont understand what this writer is trying to do with the story. I have read all the books and this one is probly the worst. I just dont understand it. Why cant there be at least a little happy ending? Well I guess that's the way it is. I guess I would recomend it to other readers.

  • exactly as described

There was very little damage to the cover and the pages weren't missing or damaged. The book itself was very good and would recommend to read.
