  • Joyce Carol Oates At Her Best

The Gravedigger's Daughter is a disturbing memoir of a woman, born in the harbor of NY, her parents' Jewish immigrants (running away from the Nazis)... This book is about transformation, is about the way we remake ourselves, our lives, and all the myths behind that remaking. Joyce Carol Oates was inspired by her grandmother's story, and she makes her into the central character in this story, fictionalizing her by placing her in the 50s, versus the 30s...it is an incredible frightening read, but Joyce Carol Oates take you to places you won't believe you would want to entertain, consider, and/or learn about... If you are a fan of this wonderful author, you must read this book!
