About this product

Product Information

Maureen A. Barrett and Michael J. Klementovich have collaborated on this thorough biography of the audio pioneer, Paul W. Klipsch. As engineer, geophysicist, entrepreneur, WWII veteran and musician, the authors trace the life accomplishments of this brilliant, yet eccentric man who besides founding the company that continues to be a leading manufacturer of loudspeakers, holds patents in the field of ballistics, acoustics and geophysics and is the namesake of the Klipsch School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New Mexico State University. Apart from his notable professional accomplishments, the authors illuminate Klipsch's private side and idiosyncrasies -- he is renowned for wearing a small button that says bullshit and his devotion to his wife, Valerie. Well-written and scrupulously researched, the book is an interesting portrait of a unique individual.

  • Purchae-Paul Wilbur Klipsch the Life...the Legend

I have been a follower of Paul Klipsch and his products that have always ben the American Standard of Quality and Performance. I am originally from Arkansas and first visited the Hope factory in 1969. I always thought I'd work at Klipsch after graduation but when I became an electrical engineer I found myself in aviation. The book is a fantastic read. Paul was a mentor to anyone who ever claimed to be an audiophile or didn't buy into marketing BS. I am please to fine some one close to Paul chronicled his many thoughts and talents. I'd like to read more books on the "Legend". Meanwhile, I will keep my copy in a special place atop my Klipschorns!! Sincerely, Gary Shroyer Chief Certification Advisor GE Aviation Grand Rapids, Michigan

  • Paul Klipsch - the Life & Legend

One very good book for anyone who's an admirer of the man and his work, anyone curious about same and also those who have been fortunate to have met him, however briefly that may have been. To me, Mr. Klipsch is to loudspeakers as Beethoven is to music.
