    Visit the actual bridge and then watch the film - very moving

    We bought the DVD having just visited the actual bridge over the River Kwai. Unfortunately the filming didn't take place where the actual bridge was built, so it was a little disappointing. However, it was still interesting to watch the film again, having read so much in museums around the area, and it made the awful events so much more alive. If you ever get the chance to visit Kanchanaburi and the surrounding area, I recommend you take it, and pay homage to the thousands who sacrificed their lives there.

    Great, just as described. Thankyou

    Bought as a gift for my husband who loves old war films. It is a classic with some great actors in it. Not that keen on war films myself I did watch a little and the storyline was better than the title suggests. Posted soldiers from England to Hong Kong are given a job to build a bridge faster than the competition.

    Great value for the money

    Bought this film as it had grate actors, as for the story a grate film. I like the film as they do not make them like that
