Classic Mac, Speed Demon from another era
There is no faster stock G4 produced. It’s arguably the fastest G4 period. That being said it’s over 15yrs old and is increasingly left behind by modern standards and services. It’s beat utilized by running software made from 2001 - 2010. Most software/hardware for this model is relatively easy/cheap to come by on eBay. Games designed from this time period usually run adequately. You will do better if you can upgrade the stock Radeon 9000 - if gaming is your thing. PowerMac G4 a REAL Workhorse
I made this purchase as a back-up for the one I already had. I've read and heard complaints about the noise of these machines, but for the dollar they are very powerful workhorses. I own a PC, but Macs are my first choice every time. If I have to have a complaint it would be that the machine will outlast the operating system. (The new OS is not always backwards compatible with the machine you own, so you can only upgrade so far before being "forced" to by a new machine.) So, although it was intended as a back up, I now have one for work and one for play. I can still go online for awhile before the browsers are no longer supported and it didn't cost an arm and a leg to get there. As long as there is ebay, I don't think I'll buy "new" again.I made this purchase as a back-up for the one I already had.
