The DeskJet 5650 is a photo printing pro and can print photos of any size, both with and without borders. The printer prints in 4800-optimized dpi or optional six-ink color to bring photos to life and preserve them without fading for years to come. The DeskJet 5650 automatically selects paper quality to print the best possible copy of each picture and HP software interacts seamlessly with the printer to bring photos to life. HP photo and imaging programs give users options to format pictures for brochures, collages, and other printed photo materials. Additionally, HP PhotoREt III color layering technology delivers quality color at fast printing speeds for ease of photo printing. Users can print up to 15 color pages per minute and 21 black and white pages to make the most of their time and prepare projects for sharing. Photos can print in less than a minute, depending on settings and border selection. The printer can work from the main and backup ink cartridges to print faster or slower, depending on the user-selected print settings. This printer is compatible with both Windows computers and Macs and works with operating Windows 98 and Mac OS 8 or higher. Users can install printer drivers via an included CD or through an Internet download. Installation is quick and easy, giving users plenty of time to get work done after getting the printer up on the network. Additionally, the DeskJet 5650 has an integrated Ethernet port to connect directly to the network for faster connection speeds. The DeskJet 5650 is ideal for home office and small office settings. It has a 150-page input tray, with an optional 250-page input tray add-on available separately. Users are able to print letter, legal and multiple card sizes of paper, and up to 5,000 sheets per month.     HP Deskjet 5650 Printer

    Although this printer was built in 2005 it was shipped as a new unopened boxed printer, exactly as advertised. This makes three of these printers that we own, the others are as old as this one is, but still function perfectly. This printer set up quickly and preforms in the manner expected. HP made a consumer mistake when they discontinued the Deskjet 5650 Printer for although the ink cartridge's are on the expensive side compared to later HP printers, its output in copies far exceeds more modern printers and the ink lasts much longer. This is an Excellent HP Printer and after searching for several years for one we feel fortunate in our purchase of this HP deskjet 5650 printer. Thanks for carrying this fine brand! This is an Excellent Printer!

    Printer did not work ; Used printer was dirtier than expected

    We tried to set the printer up and it would not print. Though the printer was used, it was extremely dirty. I don't know if the issue occurred during transit. We will keep and seek to have it repaired.

    Price has come down on an older but quite good HP printer.

    I had a HP 5650 printer for about 5 years and was quit happy with it. Unfortunately while trying to install a ink cartridge I apparently jammed something and the unit froze up and I had to junk it. If you get one be sure to follow ink loading instructions. I later was able to find a replacement at a reasonable price and jumped at it. BTW there is a duplex add on module for it. The HP C8955A that can usually be found on E-Bay. Thats double sided printing!

    Excellent print quality

    This printer is the second one I have had of this model. It uses very little ink for the quality of the print. HP should have kept making this model because the new ones of comparable models use three times the ink for the quality of print.

    I got this exact model because I was knowing that it would be missing parts that i can easily cannibalize off of my old HP5650 ("USB on one-end, fire-wire on other end" wire; cartridges); and because i have alot of experience fixing the HP5650 printer. HP printers are never easy to setup, btw.
