About this product

Product Information

Enter the harsh, frosty snow world of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition from Capcom, a popular third-person shooter on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PC, with this special gold edition. Available as a console version only for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and not the PS3, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition includes additional multi-player maps, a bonus multi-player pitting humans against the Akrid, and a range of new characters and weapons for multi-player gaming via Xbox Live. Multi-player is given a general overhaul in this special edition of the game, with cross-platform battles available for Xbox 360 gamers to play co-operatively via Xbox Live either with or against their PC gamer counterparts. Multi-player game modes are divided into three categories. These are Team Battle, Individual Battle, and Hunting. In the Team Battle category, players have a choice of Point Snatcher (a favorite among cheats, accumulating points by stealing them from others), Counter Grab (holding the Data Post for longer than the other team), and Akrid Egg Battle (stealing the other team’s Akrid Egg to score a point in a Capture the Flag style game), among other modes. Individual Battle multi-player modes focus on elimination styles of games, such as Egg Bandit, in which the player to hold on to the Akrid Egg longest is the winner. In the Hunting games, players are positioned as humans or Akrid to eliminate each other and fill the Battle Gauge. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition for the Xbox 360 also includes three new single-player gameplay modes. In Score Attack Mode, players earn points for each kill they make, with bonus points assigned to combo attacks. In Time Trial Battle Mode, which is comparable to Arcade mode in other games such as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, players can go head to head against each of the game’s bosses. In the unlockable Off Limit Mode, players gain access to ludicrously powerful weapons and unlimited ammunition, along with enhanced speed, as though multiple cheats are activated at once. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition also allows players to switch to a first-person shooter or an over-the-shoulder perspective in the style of Resident Evil 4, another one of Capcom’s games, as opposed to the standard third-person view. New maps exclusive to the Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition are Crossfire City, Area 921, Lost Arena, and Assault Space, all of which are included alongside the original maps from the standard edition of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. The three downloadable content (DLC) map packs are also included, along with the Bonus Battle Ground Map. Weapons introduced in Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition for the Xbox 360 include a standard, handheld armory featuring the Flame Launcher, Hand Cannon, Hand Gun, and Revolver. Fire and Energy Grenades are also included, along with weapons for use with the Vital Suit (VS). These are the Laser Lance, Rocket Pod, Pile Bunker, and VS Rifle. Aside from all the bonus content, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition for the Xbox 360 provides the same atmospheric sci-fi gaming experience as the standard edition of the game. Endure the hostile conditions of this far flung planet, along with a range of even more hostile enemies, among them the Akrid, alien creatures that draw strength from thermal energy, and the nefarious Snow Pirates. For newcomers to this popular Capcom series of games, the special Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition makes for an excellent introduction, while more veteran players will appreciate the wealth of additional content not available on the PS3.

    Nostalgic Vibes!

Great game ...actually the first 360 game I bought back in the early 2000s good to find this little nugget of nostalgia on EBay!

  • Above my expectations

I know that Capcom has a reputation for inputting elements from its other games into new ones. I am happy to say it collected the good elements & created Lost Planet. An intriguing story that leaves a lot untold in the beginning & forces you to pay attention all the way to the end. I was very pleased with the graphics. The varied level environments & enemies are put together very well. Having the inside mech/on foot option is a great & rare balance. There is strategy that starts to form within that aspect of the game. The music compliments the game so much that it takes on a story book feel. Never dull with hints of urgency when needed. My only gripe personally was that they could have had unlockable characters for offline play too.

  • Lost Planet Extreme condition Colonies edition

Lost Planet Colonies edition is one of the better Japanese re-releases of a console title that I've seen, and for good reason. First off, getting to play as the Akrid is a great addition to the game. Secondly, new weapons, maps, and characters add to the experience. The cross-platform play is good if you don't know anyone with a 360, or with Xbox live Gold. A few complaints about the game, however, would be the reload time. That takes a while, which leaves you open to attacks. Another issue, and I can't say for sure if this on the regular 360s, or just the 360 S, but it doesn't read the disk as Lost Planet, just as Game, which is a bit annoying. If not for the few minor flaws, this game might warrant a perfect score, but because of those, it loses a point. 4/5.

  • Awesome Game

First of all the Disc came in Great Quality (Brand New Xbox Factory Sealed). Campaign Mode is fun, but only has some replay value. The main value of this game is the Xbox Live Multiplayer. You are given several different game types that you can choose from as well as the ability to search for matches and join the one that you want. For people who are bored with just fighting against other humans I recommend that they check out the game type Akrid Hunter, this is by far my favourite match type in this game and I can play for hours. Plus any game where everyone has grapple guns is just a good game.

  • What I Think

I Think it's a awesome game. The only bad thing is the replay value on it. I will probably only play the game through once every year and a half....maybe. I recomemd it to everyone. My dad plays it now so...It wasn't a total waist. Don't get me wrong though.... It's a sweet game.
