Phantom Hourglass is amazing.
This game is basically the part 2 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The story is interesting and maneuvering the ship is fun. I am almost done with the game and its getting more challenging but the adventure experience has been fun. After I am done with this game I am going to check out Spirit tracker. I don't want to give any details about this game because I am afraid of giving any spoilers for those who have not played this game. Graphics 9/10, sound 10/10 and the way the movement is function for this game at first it was difficult because its something new for me. You have to use the pointer with the touch screen and something new and something you need to get used to. Clunky Controls for an Otherwise Compelling Game
Phantom Hourglass suffers from the early DS games over-reliance on the touch screen, almost all in game controls ignore the DS's physical controls in favor of some touch screen gimmick that feels much clunkier than other games in this beloved action-rpg series. The story is still a compelling direct sequel to Wind Waker and may compel seasoned Zelda collectors to take the plunge.

Set some time after The Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass opens with Tetra and her pirate crew along with Link chasing down a ghost ship claimed to have taken sailors and residents of the local islands. The crew discovers the ship, but when Tetra goes aboard to explore, she disappears. Link attempts to follow her but ends up adrift in the ocean. Link later recovers through the help of the fairy Ciela, who has some amnesia about her past, and an old man named Oshus, who help Link on his quest to find the ghost ship and reunite with Tetra. To that end, they enlist the help of the reluctant Captain Linebeck and his ship after saving him from the Temple of the Ocean King; Linebeck only offers to help with the expectation of finding treasure along the way[5]. Link discovers that to learn of the ... With the aid of the Hourglass, Link is able to locate and ally with the Spirits of Wisdom and Power easily, but the Spirit of Courage he finds looks exactly like Ciela. Oshus explains that Ciela is actually the Spirit of Courage and she lost her memory when Bellum attacked her. He also reveals that he himself is the Ocean King. Oshus further explains that he and Ciela had to take their present forms to hide from the life-eating monster Bellum, who is the cause of the ghost ship and other evil in the local area, and has taken residence at the very depths of the Temple. Link succeeds in his attempt to rescue Tetra with the help of the three Spirits, but finds Tetra is now a statue, a further effect of Bellum's life-draining power. Link is ready to continue but Linebeck initially refuses to help further having come up empty-handed for treasure so far, though agrees to continue once Oshus promises to grant Linebeck one wish after Link's quest is complete. The weapon to banish Bellum Link learns that the only way to defeat Bellum is to forge the Phantom Sword from three unique, "pure" metals around the local islands. After collecting the materials and forging the Phantom Sword, Link descends to the bottom level of the Temple, and initially appears to defeat Bellum. Tetra is freed from the statue form and revived, but before the group can celebrate, Bellum reemerges from the ocean depths and takes Tetra again. In the ensuing battle of the S.S. Linebeck and the ghost ship, Linebeck's ship is lost, as well as Oshus, and Link and Tetra are captured. Linebeck reluctantly picks up the Phantom Sword and is able to free Link and Tetra, at the cost of his own freedom, but is able to give Link back the Phantom Sword before Bellum possesses Linebeck and turns him into a Phantom-like knight, but Link is ultimately able to vanquish Bellum without harming Linebeck. As the adventure closes, the sand from the Phantom Hourglass is released into the sea. Oshus, now in his true form of a white blue whale, readies to depart with the Spirits, while Linebeck, surprising everyone, wishes not for treasure but for his ship back. After everyone says their goodbyes, Link and Tetra find themselves back on the pirate ship, where it seems only ten minutes have passed for the rest of the crew and they insist that it was all a dream.

a Zelda game uses stylus completely
I am just starting to play this game Sept.2011,my 1st Zelda ds game at that,on my 3DS system.I am really enjoying this game. It is hard to do some of the movements,though. Like blowing out candles,blowing windmills-I did pre mic test,everything is good. I never played ds game I had to do these,and I should add,this is my 1st hand held gaming system-ever! so I'm not familiar with everything just yet. This game is just as good,as full screen Zelda game,you'd play using Wii system. It's full of adventures,quests,boss's,and ship you control! I haven't seen Epona{horse}yet,I haven't pre read this game,so I don't know who is in this,and who isn't.I just playing it,learning as I go. game play control,is totally you,doiing every move. This is a great game,going slow for me as,I'm not 100% knowing/comfortable with my 3DS system,just yet. I highly recomend this game,as you are completely involved in this game.It has a lot of adventures,quests,weapons,enemies,to keep you going,never getting bored.Graphics are really great,very colorful,vivid,better than I thought it would be.Storyline fits this game,kinda interresting.I do have to say this:you do have to use your stylus every second-if your not liking this,then this game may not be for you.When your comfortable with using stylus constantly-then this will be great game :-} Next game in this series,I'll be playing is:Zelda Spirit Tracks ds game.I'm getting into Zelda mode,for november 20th release of:Zelda Skyward Sword for Wii.Either regular game for $49.99 or Gold pkg.that comes with :Gold Wii motion plus,game disc,CD music-I'm getting Gold pkg. :-}

"This game is... EPIC!" I know, I know. Epic? Am I exaggerating? Nope. Few games reach epic status, one such game is Metroid Prime. I know. Am I going so far as to compare this game to Metroid Prime? No. This game is astounding. Graphics: 10/10 The graphics of the game are quite a lot like Wind Waker's, which means graphics are either something you love, or something you hate. I am personally a fan of Wind Waker's graphics, because it is more of a storybook style, and I persoanally enjoy that, because it makes you feel like you are enjoying a great fantasy novel, as well as playing a game. That is why I give the graphics a ten. Sound: 10/10 The sound takes you back, as always, with that first "You found a secret! DANANANANA-NANA!", and takes you ... "This game is... EPIC!" Sure, they are the same ol' Push Block, Hit Switch in Right Order conviently located on sign, but then there are new puzzles such as "Open the door by writing the number of palm trees on the beach on the sign". It is like playing "Trace Memory" With Zelda. Thumbs up! Gameplay: 10/10 From learning to roll to the Phantom Dodgings, to finding the way to find the secret cave, it is epic. Sailing, sadly, has taken a small toll, as now you may not free sail, instead navigate in a line. Fortunately, ship battles, Beedle, and barrels to dodge are still cool. Go ahead. You know the game. Let's play Overall: 10/10 For the reasons stated above, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has achieved Epic-hood. You can't beat this game. Well, you can, because if you don't then you will have failed game-hood, or your dignity, but this game deserves respect, care, and honor. This game will live on as one of the greatest DS games of our time. It isn't Twilight Princess, but in some ways it is better (Because this game actually has hard puzzles before Arbiter's Ground!).
