    Audio_Technic ATR 3350

The Audio Technica ATR 3350, great product for the price. Lets start with the microphone, Small light weight picks up voice well, add the small wind sock and depending on the placement of the microphone you make not hear any wind noise. I have a habit of taking a small piece of gaffers tape to secure the mic cable in place in addition to just using the clip it come with. The clip itself could be more solid, but has no bearing on performance. The on off switch an battery holder work well. The battery is not to difficult to change out. The sound produced by this mic is great. I have read other reviews that say the sound is horrible.I run the mic into a mixer, a Behringer or Alesis then into a sound program by the time the audio files are worked some of the things pointed out regarding sound ...

  • Decent lavalier at an bargain price point!

I used to own two Rode Lavalier Microphones but sold them due to limited use. They were excellent but cost me around $250 each with the connectors. On a recent project, I needed a lavalier microphone and really tossed up between getting another Rode Lavalier and this. However, I thought this would be a silly investment as I don't use them too often. Instead, I chose to buy one of these for $30 and it has performed surprisingly well. Of course, not as well as the Rode but considering the $220 price difference, it has held up remarkably. Another thing that is really useful about this mic is the really long cord, which is great for connecting the mic straight to the camera when the talent is further away. The build quality is on the cheaper side (as would be expected) but as long as you ...

  • Not pro sound, but for the price you get capable good audio from this mic.

Only Four Stars due to battery, it's a great mic for the money. Don't expect miracles, it's not pro equipment, but you can get it to sound pretty good. Only caveat is the battery has to be charged to get good sound, when the battery wans you definitely get more noise. So if your getting annoying noise...just make sure the battery is fresh before you think it's broken. I bought this to show my dad who is a teacher doing video productions with his students that he could get cheap lavalier mics without breaking the bank. There is some noise, as with any lavalier. At this price range most people aren't going to invest in a preamp, or mixer/with preamps. But pumping up the gain of the mic signal turns it into a more powerful line signal which sounds a lot better with a lot less ...

  • You get what you pay for, if you have the $$ move up, no $$ its just OK

Having had a costly wireless lapel mic system start faulting on me I thought I would purchase a small, low cost alternative as a back up. The ATR3350 was the one I decided on. First thoughts were the packaging is cheap, next was how do you handle so much wire! The length of the cable with this mic is more than enough for sure. It will allow you to get a good distance from say your video camera for example to get effective focus and positioning. The general quality of the lapel mic is OK, its what I would expect for the price, nothing fancy just built to get the job done. The quality of audio on the mic is not good. Its adequate but if your looking for 'good quality' then make another choice. Possibly up your budget. The pick up on this is fairly good, but again could be better. I have ...

  • Great Inexpensive Lavalier

I'm using this, along with a Zoom H4N recorder, to record off-camera sound for video interviews. I've read nothing but good things about the sound quality of the little Audio-Technica, and it didn't disappoint. The only important feature this microphone lacks is some sort "low battery" warning light, that could also indicate when the mic is on (it's easy to forget to turn it off, which drains the battery). I'm sure there are better-built and better-sounding options if money is no object, but for the price this is an excellent deal. I'm considering getting a second one to record two voices at the same time.
