A must read for anyone interested in music and anthropology
This book tells the story of the role drumming and rhythm in the story of mankind. I was fascinated to learn how important drumming is in world culture, and how close to extinction drumming became in Western culture. Mickey Hart has done a heroic deed in bringing this story to the attention of the academic community, and to us, the readers. The book is well-researched and well-written.
