Journey 2001 is NOT Journey
We bought this DVD not knowing Steve Perry was no longer with the band: imagine my surprise when Steve Augeri shows up! "Who's this guy???" "Steve Perry with a perm" is a term I've heard used...At first I was somewhat impressed, he does 'sound like' Steve Perry (as does Arnel Pineda), but the more I watch & listen & compare the shorter they fall. Steve Augeri has a fine voice, but no one has the pure clarity, tone, soulfulness, and power of "THE Voice". I said Augeri was too "Vegas" for me; imagine the irony when I learned that this show was taped in Vegas! It's an OK performance but I'm a die-hard Steve Parry fan. I don't care that they're out there touring, making albums and money but just don't ... I bought this used DVD today at the local Goodwill for $3.50 non-taxed minus a 10% Tuesday "senior" discount. This is an excellent live DVD concert featuring the new Steve Perry replacement Steve Augeri. Both Steves were excellent fronts for the band, yet each contributed immensely in their own right and with their own unique voices. I won't choose nor comment one vocalist over the other as that is irrevelent and does not matter. What this live DVD does is deliver. It puts you in the front seat with all of the excitement of a rock and roll journey into one of the SF bay area's best 80s bands. Every band member contributed to a memorable night. This is an awesome performance and one of the best concerts captured live in las Vegas. ... Autographs are awesome!
This is a never opened signed DVD by Journey. It is amazing even without Steve Perry's autograph. I plan on displaying this so it will never be opened. I have loved this band since their first song. The price was great. The signatures are clear. Just an amazing buy!
