Tom Berenger stars in this ESPN movie as Paul "Bear" Bryant, the legendary Texas A&M football coach. Hired in 1954 to turn around the university's struggling football team, Bryant subjected the 100 hopefuls who showed up for training camp to a grueling regimen in the Texas heat. An intense physical test that not many believe they'll survive, players are soon dropping left and right. However, through this test Bryant determines which players have the drive to win, and by the end of summer he has put together a close knit team of 35 football players who believe they can conquer anything.

Junction Boys is good, but not real good.
Not a great movie, but it's ok. Not sure what the point of this movie is since Bryant doesn't feel he did the right thing pushing them so hard at Junction. His record shows excellent improvement his first three years at Texas, but he had very few players on those teams that made it through Junction. I think they should have done a better job following up how he ran the teams the following two years to show the drastic improvement. I think he set the standard with the Junction boys and all new recruits had to rise to that standard and that's why they became successful. I think this movie could have been a lot better. I'm glad I have it, but it doesn't beat my favorite, Miracle.Not a great movie, but it's ok. Two-a-day, and even three-a-day, workouts, in full pads, during a massive heat wave, were enough to make even the heartiest souls sick and weary, but Coach Bryant, at the risk of a number of players, did what he felt he had to do, and came out of Junction at the camp's conclusion, with a team that believed they could do anything.
