A cult 1970s British television show, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE picked up a U.S. audience after airing on Nickelodeon in the 1980s. A group of teenagers discover they possess some remarkable powers, and set up base with their computer (named Tim) in an underground bunker. From this secreted location they use their telekinesis, teleportation, and telepathy skills to thwart some dangerous sources from beyond the stars. A show that deserves to stand alongside other British sci-fi series' such as BLAKES SEVEN and DOCTOR WHO, the first two seasons of THE TOMORROW PEOPLE are collected here.

I remember watching this U.K. series when syndicated in the 70s. It was great as a child to hope that one day you could "break-out" and become a person with talents like telepathy, telekenesis and "jaunting" (being able to travel long distances by just thinking about it!) It's great that A&E is releasing the series on DVD once again, especially for persons like me who have vivid memories of the show. Certainly, it wasn't a masterpiece of special effects, nor were the storylines particularly complex, but it was the first time a serialized show existed for children and young adults. Though the acting isn't the best in the world, the series does slowly improve noticably within the first box set. If you were as I, curled up in front of the TV with a bowl of popcorn when this originally ... I remember watching this U.K. series when syndicated in the 70s. It was great as a child to hope that one day you could "break-out" and become a person with talents like telepathy, telekenesis and "jaunting" (being able to travel long distances by just thinking about it!) It's great that A&E is releasing the series on DVD once again, especially for persons like me who have vivid memories of the show. The Tomorrow People Set 1
Don't look for high tech sci-fi, but for some good campy fun, you can't miss with this British kids TV series. Its approach is a bit New-Age, so you shouldn't take this show seriously, but still it's better than you might expect.
