Product Information

Nintendo's popular in-house life development sim returns with 3D gameplay and an entirely new species of furry four-legged friends in Nintendogs + Cats. There are 27 different breeds from which to choose, highlighted by the golden retriever cover-critter, and each breed offers unique color patterns and personalities. All of the animals react to touch (on the touch pad) and sound (through the microphone), and the facial recognition technology of the 3DS even lets the virtual pets learn their owner's face. Other 3DS gameplay options are also put to use in Nintendogs + Cats, such as an augmented reality feature that allows virtual pets to play on real-world objects like tables or desks, or the activity log pedometer that keeps track of real-world steps when players take their pet for a walk. Gamers can also snap photos of their puppy or kitten at any time, exchange "Miis," pets, and presents with nearby players, and download new content at any wireless hotspot.

    It could have been way better. Buy it for a pet simulator, not as a game.

    The graphics update is ADORABLE. These puppies are super cute. But the game has changed almost drastically since the original. One, you can't just pet the dog. It has to be pet in specific spots for it to count. Two, Walks are completely different. You can no longer decide your destinations. Which means you can't go train whenever you want or on every walk. Three, the secondhand store is a trade system. You trade the trash you find, rather then just find it. Which is kind of cool, but I prefer the luck system over a trade system. Four, the obstacle course has been traded with reel coursing. The obstacle was my favorite part, and the reel coursing is super simple and silly. Five, which is more of a peeve then anything, they left dogs in the park. So training for disc ...

    Such a great game! Perfect for all ages. Love playing it for hours.

    I absolutely love this game. I really liked the original but this one is still good. I love the addition of the cats. Even though they don't do as much as the dogs, they're still very cute. The graphics in the game make the pets look so real. The one thing I dislike because of my own fault. For one of the competitions for the dogs, you need to have your AR cards and camera on. Sadly I ended up breaking my back cameras so I can't play it at all. A bit disappointing but I still love the game very much. Very fun for people of all ages. Take it from me, and 18 year old.
