    FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN (1943) picks up where THE WOLFMAN and THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN leave off. Roy William Neill's direction is sound and atmospheric. The climactic fight between the Monster and the Wolfman is an exciting horror film event. ILONA MASSEY get's top billing and has little to do, but is a sheer delight to watch. BELA LUGOSI was sixty (60) years old when he filmed this now classic film and does his best at playing the Monster despite being in poor health throughout production...which explains the two or three stuntmen who double for him in most of the action sequences. LON CHANEY JR. gives one of his best performances as the troubled, if not tormented, young man who is still looking for a cure for his horrible affliction.   • Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman

    I think this movie is okay. It's not the best in the "Creature Feature" genre. Bela Lugosi is not as effective as Frankenstein as he is as Dracula. Still, I love the B/W, love the eerie music, and the old fashioned effects of Lon Chaney changing into the Wolfman.
