The Stylus S series packs a large zoom range into a compact body, equal to that of large and heavy telephoto lenses on SLR cameras, for shooting everything from everyday scenery to concerts, sporting events, and other scenes. The S series is perfect for keeping luggage light while traveling, and the zoom is excellent for shooting graduation ceremonies, as well as school and professional sporting events. The Olympus Stylus SZ-16 is equipped with a 16 megapixel, high-sensitivity, high-speed CMOS sensor, and a high-performance image processing engine. The combination of these features makes iHS technology possible, for high-sensitivity, low-noise, and high-speed AF. Since the Stylus SZ-16 is equipped with a 24x (48x at super resolution) optical zoom lens from 25 mm wide-angle to 600 mm telephoto, it is perfect for capturing far-away subjects up close, such as children's expressions during graduation ceremonies or school plays, or close-up action of athletes at sporting events. With shift-type image stabilization and DUAL IS for high-sensitivity shooting, camera shake is effectively compensated for during telephoto shooting. Since users can approach subjects up to 40 cm away with a 600 mm equivalent telephoto lens, backgrounds of flowers, etc. can be blurred for an effect that is usually found only on SLR cameras. Multi motion image stabilization powerfully reduces slow, strong camera shake that occurs when shooting a movie while walking, making the Stylus SZ-16 perfect for capturing scenery while walking on trips, or following a child walking during a graduation ceremony. The Stylus SZ-16 is also equipped with the popular magic filter and beauty mode. With a single touch, users can capture a photo or movie that is a bit different than the normal image, and make subjects look more beautiful for a lasting impression. With pet mode, the camera automatically detects pets' (dogs and cats) faces and snaps a photo at the best moment, making the Stylus SZ-16 an enjoyable camera not only for special events, but everyday life as well.

    Pros: 1 Fun easy to use compact high zoom affordable camera that fits in a shirt pocket. 2 The camera makes movies at the touch of a button. 3 The camera has fast accurate zoom. 4 Takes night shots without using its flash, and 5 the battery is removable and rechargeable. 6 The battery lasts continuously for about 25 to 30 minutes taking HD movies. 7 It can take hundreds of single HD shots per charge. 8 You can buy extra rechargeable batteries and a wall charger on EBay and Amazon without breaking the bank. 9 The camera has a slot for and reads high capacity, high speed mini SD cards. 10 There are enough easy to use automatic features that beginners love this camera yet there are also several manual over ride features to please the semi pro photographer.     Excellent value, very long zoom & has manual controls to get the best pix

    Excellent value for the price, takes very good pictures for a point-and-shoot camera. Really like the long zoom. If you change the camera to Program mode, you can manually change the camera settings (ISO, WB, etc.). Only thing I miss is the flash doesn't automatically pop up, but this isn't a major issue for me as I rarely work in low-light conditions.
