About this product

Product Information

Two female assassins take the lead roles in this PS2-exclusive 2005 addition to the influential stealth-action series. Fatal Shadows follows the adventure of Tenchu veteran Ayame in which she meets the kunoichi Rin. After an unconventional introduction, the two join forces to seek revenge against an unknown party that destroyed an innocent village and murdered all its inhabitants. The ninja heroines must make use of new abilities, such as multiple-enemy stealth kills, in order to achieve this goal. Another new feature allows characters to swim underwater in order to avoid detection. In all, Tenchu: Fatal Shadows boasts 18 levels and three modes of play.

  • One of the only Tenchu games I enjoyed

I've played Tenchu 3, Tenchu Z, Stealth Assassins, and Fatal Shadows. Out of all of them, Fatal Shadows has the most interesting presentation for the story. Each stage is set up like a little TV show, with an intro, gameplay, and ending cinema, and a narrative preview of the next stage. It's this little touch that has helped me remain interested in the story (unlike Tenchu Darkness. I got sick of that after 3 stages). Each stages has a difficulty adjustment, so players of all various skill levels can enjoy the game.

  • This game is great for both new and familiar players of the Tenchu series.

Definitely worth it! Don't listen to everyone saying this one is bad, or worse that Wrath of Heaven. In fact, this one is definitely better than Wrath of Heaven! If you haven't played Tenchu before, it might will be difficult, but just play it for a bit and you'll get the hang of it. This Tenchu (Tenchu Fatal Shadows or [kurenai] in japan) is very similar to Tenchu Wrath of Heaven because the same developer (K2 LLC), however, this one is a bit different with how you will obtain new techniques. In Tenchu WoH you will easily obtain all the techniques as long as you kill a number of enemies in a map. However in the Tenchu FS it's different, you will get scroll books every time you stealth-kill enemies, from one to five, that changes depending on the difficulty when killing, if it's a fatal ...

  • The only Ninja stealth game worth buying!!!

If you've never played a TENCHU game before, start here. It is the best so far. I have been playing Tenchu since the first one was released. This is the first TENCHU game that SEGA developed and they did a surprisingly good job. They stayed true to the formula. You play as either Ayame or Rin (well you kinda play as both), one kills for honor and one for revenge. The gameplay in this installment is really excellent! You can now swin, hide underwater and jump out to make a swift kill. You can drag enemy bodies after you kill them to avoid detection al'a Metal Gear Solid. You can now lock onto an enemy and throw them during combat, which is a welcome addition. The camera is better behaved in this version than in previous ones, but still not perfect. The graphics are much enhanced but I feel ...

  • Another fantastic Tenchu game!

Well. I've always been into the Tenchu games, I've played them since the first game (Tenchu - Stealth Assasins). This game is a off-history game were we hear about this new character Rin which has been away from her hometown for training and when she gets back everyone in the town is murdered and everything is burning, she swear revenge and then that is what the game is about. But we also follows Ayame which takes a part of Rin's history. The game is really good. The graphic is better than the other games, there is new special moves and the voice characters is better than in Tenchu 3 - The Wrath Of Heaven. You wont regret buying any of the Tenchu games!
