  • It's a pilot, not a movie

I had seen part of "Between Heaven and the Hangmen" when I was younger, but only remembered a few parts and wanted to see it again. As you might expect, there were some good parts along with the bad. I don't plan on watching it again, though, because it is not real good as a stand-alone movie. It was designed to be the pilot for a TV series about the story of Ned Blessing and how he ultimately was sentenced to hang, so most of it is viewed as a flashback. The problem is that it introduces characters and situations that are just left hanging--in the figurative sense--presumably to be taken care of in later shows.
