Notes
The vinyl edition of Nirvanas hit album, NEVERMIND, which helped usher in the Grunge era of the 1990s. Nevermind is the second studio album by the American rock band Nirvana, released on September 24, 1991. Produced by Butch Vig, Nevermind was the group's first release on DGC Records. Frontman Kurt Cobain sought to make music outside the restrictive confines of the Seattle grunge scene, drawing influence from groups such as the Pixies and their use of "loud/quiet" dynamics. It is their first album to feature drummer Dave Grohl. Despite low commercial expectations by the band and its record label, Nevermind became a surprise success in late 1991, largely due to the popularity of its first single, "Smells Like Teen Spirit". By January 1992, it had replaced Michael Jackson's album Dangerous at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album also produced three other successful singles: "Come as You Are", "Lithium", and "In Bloom". The Recording Industry Association of America has certified the album Diamond (over 10 million copies shipped), and the album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Nevermind was in part responsible for bringing alternative rock to a large mainstream audience, and has been ranked highly on lists of the greatest albums of all time by publications such as Rolling Stone and Time.

    Super Quiet, high-quality vinyl

I've purchased a lot of high-end vinyl over the years and I'm skeptical of those claiming to have a superior product. So, to that end, I researched Pallas and determined they'd produce a high-quality pressing. Now, in this particular Nirvana Nevermind case, I don't know what they used as data input (I suspect a big .wav file) and I see no evidence they were handed the master tape and/and tried to do a 1/2 speed master, etc. Nevermind was always kind of a lo-fi outing and there's no evidence anyone in the audio chain had Steely Dan pretentions, nor any evidence of a digital front-end recording. So, in terms of "new found" information on the vinyl, I don't think you'll hear anything "new." That said, this is the quietest vinyl I've yet heard on my system...absolutely dead quiet...an ...

  • Amazing sound quality

I'm always a bit skeptical when buying albums, especially in the grading process. This truly is new with outstanding mastering. Shot with a zero stat and a light clothing, I played it with absolutely no his or pops. Sound quality was right up there with the best of my LP's. I believe this is one of Nirvana all time best, hands down.

  • Pallas presses Quality vinyl.

The Pallas pressing of Nirvanas self-titled album is one of the best sounding presses out there and at a fraction of the cost the others, which makes this the most logical choice for wallet watchers. Great album. Great sound. Great price.

  • Smells like awsomeness

With the exception of the original pressing which goes for $150 now, this is THE BEST I have ever heard this record. The peoples at Palais got it right. Huge sound and lots of detail; way more than you get from a standard CD.
