BAD Fuel pumps 4406 for "Y" block Ford vehicles
Installed and at idle it works ok. In driving it will NOT deliver necessary fuel at 60-70 mph. We have had the same problem with 3 other 4406 pumps from NAPA. From what information we can see, all of these are made in CHINA. I have been in business for 37 years and worked mainly on Ford "Y" blocks. Only in the past year has this problem come up! I have corresponded with all of my suppliers and even the person that is tech editor for the International Thunderbird Club and he also indicated that this is a problem on all new 4406 pumps (from all vendors)! I would suggest locating a NEW supplier in the US to produce this pump if you have any further plans to sell same.Installed and at idle it works ok. It does not supply the fuel needed on this vehicle.
upon getting it installed and trying to start the vehicle which has been completely rebuilt 292 engine it would not supply the fuel/or pressure to get the engine to start. I connected a electric fuel pump and it starts and runs perfect.
