Heavy copper coated aluminum wire really made a difference, really gave my system punch!
Note: this is not pure copper wire; it is high strand copper-coated aluminum, as specified in the PDF spec sheet link under the listing. But, no worries. Forget what you've heard, that only pure copper is good for high power audio. My system is high-end AV system, with RBH Impression speakers. The head unit is 150 watts RMS, 350 watts peak per channel. The original installation was 16 AWG pure copper wires. The replacement was this product, at an excellent price for a huge 250 foot spool. I wanted heavier wires, especially since the rear surround speakers are 25 feet away from the AV receiver. I replaced all of the 16 gauge copper wires with this 12 gauge copper-coated aluminum. I immediately noticed an increase in responsiveness to high dynamic range sounds, like a kick drum or an ... And so did my wife, who really isn't into the audiophile scene and is usually happy with the built-in TV speaker. I think that if you go up in size 1 or 2 AWG sizes from the copper, then the copper coated aluminum will exceed the transmission qualities of the smaller pure copper wires, like from 16 to 12 gauge like I did. It also might help that these wires are 122 strands. I don't fully understand the physics, but I noticed that it is generally agreed that the more strands in a wire, the better the transmission of audio signals across the frequency range. If you are hesitant because these wires are merely copper coated rather than pure copper, don't be. This heavy gauge wiring seems to be capable of handling anything your amplifier can output. The only con that I have is that since the core is aluminum, it is soft, so I felt I should tin the ends with solder before affixing the banana plugs to it to prevent crushing the strands under the set screws. This might not have been necessary, but since I had a soldering iron and solder, I just did it. (I bought this wire with my own money, it wasn't free to review. I'm just very impressed with it)
