This is a seller you can trust! The item was exactly as described, in excellent condition, and the one bit of inside marking was clearly documented in the item's description. No surprises, no shipping damage, no chance of shipping damage given how well it was packed- even a lower-price item like this purchase was treated with high-price care and packaging. Very, very impressed! I would 100% do business with this seller again!

  • The story of a hero.

As most of us did, I followed the story of Daniel Pearl's kidnap and murder with interest. I was aware at the time that he was married and expecting a child, but that was the extent of my knowledge about Mariane Pearl. Little did I know that she is a journalist in her own right, and a brave hero who spearheaded her husband's search. Sadly we all know how the story ended; however, there was no way to understand what Daniel Pearl's would-be rescuers, friends and family went through before his body was found. Mariane Pearl's story, well documented during the ordeal and told with strength of character and in defiance of terrorists who would seek to make her afraid, is well written, thoughtful, and extremely moving. Reading of her reaction to learning about her husband's death, and the ...

  • It Tells the story in so much detail...VERY TOUCHING!

This was a GREAT book! She sure shared alot of personal feelings and experiences that I had no idea that were going on while I was watching all this about Daniel Pearl unfold myself in 2002. It answered alot of questions I kinda had, and her story really makes you feel close to the situation. As well as somewhat current situations and the things she has done since. She tells what she was going through and the things she was still trying to accomplish through the birth of her son. I really could keep babbling but I don't want to give TOO much away. This book is really worth the read and I can't wait to see the movie too. Although I'm sure the book has more personal details that the movie won't have time to cover like the book can.

  • Pearl is an inspiration, especially for women

I decided to buy this book after I listened to an interview with Pearl on NPR's Speaking of Faith. I was amazed with her clarity of mind, her understanding of her own purpose and beliefs, and her courage in carrying these out. She is a wonderful combination of yin and yang. Frankly, women in the news with these qualities are not that common, though of course they are common in the world. Right away I wanted to know what this woman is made of so I could better emulate her. In the book I found more inspiration and more ideas on how to become the woman I want to be. The book is well written and of course the story is compelling and riveting so even if you aren't looking for a hero you will find it worth reading.

  • A Mighty Heart by Mariane Pearl

It describes what Danny's wife went through during the time he was missing and when his body was found. It is a heartbreaking story. Mariane tries to explain everything to the readers. She goes onto informing the readers her fears as well as her saddness. To me it was a way for her to grieve. Excellent book to read. I read "Who Killed Daniel Pearl" and to me it became boring at the end. A Mighty Heart doesn't.

  • A Mighty Heart

It is a well written biography. I watched the movie first which led me to search out the book. In my opinion the book is even better then the movie.
