    Updgaded from a 5600+ to a 6400+

    Just dropped in the chip, greased the top and cooling fan, and it works like it should, made a nice speed increase for a modest cost on an older machine. What's not to like?

    Price is high and puts out a lot of heat but works well for its age.

    Bottom line: Pricey for what it is but works well for its age. Word of warning, this is a HOT running CPU. At 125 watts be ready with a water or large air cooling system. Overall its a good CPU for its age. Scores a 6.3 in WEI, and plays BF3 on med settings AA @ 4x @ 40FPS. (I have it mated to a 9800GT.) Its an old system but solid. The price is a little high for what it is but if all you want to do is upgrade your CPU than this is the best route to take.

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor AM2, great upgrade from Athlon 64 x 2 5400+ 2.8Ghz

    Performs like new! Great upgrade from my previous AMD Athlon 5400+ (Black Edition), besides cycling faster it has larger L1 and L2 caches.

    Last of the great K8 Athlons

    Last and fastest Athlon 64 x2 K8 based processor, packed into an AM2 package with DDR2 support. Great choice for someone looking to build a K8 based Athlon 64 X2 gaming system and wants to save money and have more options to play with using AM2 over Socket 939. Big cooler needed though, keep that in mind.
