All of the modes of play and maps from Unreal Tournament 2003, along with the downloadable mission packs from 2003, more than 20 original maps, and a number of other features can be found in Unreal Tournament 2004. One major addition to the Unreal Tournament series is the inclusion of vehicles. Both land- and air-based vehicles are accessible, as are a number of new weapons, including land mines, rocket-propelled grenades, and stationary gun turrets. Returning from the original Unreal Tournament is Assault mode, which has one team attacking an objective while another defends the objective. After one round, the teams switch sides with the former defenders attempting to complete the assault faster than the other team. New to the series is Onslaught mode, which is where users will utilize the aforementioned vehicles. Maps in Onslaught mode are much larger than those found in the other modes of play. Teams are required to capture Power Nodes as they progress across the map, eventually establishing a link to the enemy's Power Core and destroying it. The developers have also added a number of enhancements to improve the online community. Demo recording allows users to record their games and later show them off to friends. Players can watch other players battle it out live as well by logging onto the UnrealTV broadcast system. Live chat is built-in too, but game players will have to supply their own microphone to take advantage of it. This second DVD edition of Unreal Tournament includes two discs. The first contains the entire game (as released in Unreal Tournament 2004 DVD Special Edition) and the second features a full-length DVD movie which demonstrates expert gameplay, map design, and modding techniques.

This game is awesome! I have one of the very first editions that came out in 2004 (in a 6 disc set) so I already know the game and I wanted a single disc version because I am always updating things on my computer and get tired of loading the game disc after disc after disc (LOL). I believe that this game is much better than the recent release of Unreal Tournament III (which I also have), better weapons, better mods, better maps and the best thing about this game is that there still is A LOT of activity on it for a game that is almost 5 years old. So in short, if you liked this game when it originally came out in 1999, get it! The original (99) and (04) seem to be the best and whats in between and beyond seem to bomb in the world of gamers. So enjoy all, the game is awesome!!!!This game is awesome! Amazing continuation of the Unreal Series!
I have been playing this series since it came out...and I have to say that UT2004 added a whole new level to the Tournament. Single player continues to be fantastic and the multiplayer is more dynamic than ever with the addition of jumping wall dodges in UT2003. Onslaught is a wonderful addition that offers a nice alternative to small maps and gun vs. gun fighting. All-in-all, this game is amazing and will never die. I highly suggest purchasing the special edition because it comes with expert map-making tutorials by the developers themselves...which is extremely helpful if you want to become masterful with Unreal Editor.I have been playing this series since it came out...and I have to say that UT2004 added a whole new level to the Tournament. UT 2K4 one of the greatest shooters ever!
I was wanting to buy this game for about a month or two but I found out it had been discontinued. The game it self is a very entertaining shooter and is worth the $20 you spend on it or however much you have to spend. The weapon selection in the game is huge and the multiplayer is awesome. The only thing that makes this game bad, is the fact that it takes up a whopping 9 GB of Hard drive space so if you dont have much memory I would not recommend buying it, but, other than that this is a very top quality shooter and will give you hours of entertainment.I was wanting to buy this game for about a month or two but I found out it had been discontinued. A Golden Oldie
It may be 16 years old now, but this game is still a blast. It is not terribly demanding on computer resources, so you can still use that ancient pc gathering dust in the corner to play.
