    Adds capabilities to my Yamaha starter kit.

    I bought this drum pad to replace the original single-zone pad that came with the Yamaha kit that I bought at a thrift store. It has three active zones. I am not a drummer but am eager to learn. I felt that this discontinued product would be more difficult to find as time goes by and as my skills improve, I will be able to take advantage of its capabilities. It works great.

    Not what I expected but it will help me become a better drummer.

    Keep in mind this will not generate a three zone effect on the DTX 430 kit. It also requires some adjustments in the menu, it's not just plug and play. Plan an evening to get it installed and tweaked before you hit the road. The pad does have a two zone effect with that kit and automatically sets half the rim to a rimshot. (you don't say) The other half gets you the standard snare sound. I'll be upgrading again to the TP70S which I believe does generate all three zones with my kit, but for what I paid for this, I have zero complaints.

    Great purchase !

    Responds better than I thought it would right out da box. The 3 zones are nicely separated. Alot of 2,3 zone tom or cymbal pads don't respond this great with out tweaking. Happy customer.
