Incorporating characters, settings, and storylines from the first four entries in Disney's blockbuster film series, this adaptation of Pirates of the Caribbean continues in the tradition of earlier LEGO games based on Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter. Over 20 whimsical levels are included as players guide "minifig" versions of Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann across locales based on Port Royal, Tortuga, Isla de Muerta, Shipwreck Cove, and Sparrow's ship, the <i>Black Pearl</i>. <br><br>Characters will engage in lighthearted swordplay against soldiers, skeletons, and other enemies while solving puzzles and interacting with objects in the environment. As with previous titles in the LEGO series, you'll quickly assemble items throughout each area to reveal treasures, unlock secret areas, or to complete objectives. The action is once again viewed from a third-person perspective as up to two friends or family members work together on the same screen. Over 70 playable characters are included in total, with a "free play" mode allowing players to revisit their favorite scenes with their choice of heroes or villains.

My only real problem I had was that I politely and specifically asked for it to be BOXED with bubblewrap and NOT sent in an envelope---sure enough, even tho, I was told it would be shipped protectively, it came in a bubblemailer... (LOL!) (exactly what I asked it not be shipped in...) Anyways, despite that, the game arrived ok... There was no loose disc which was my main concern... (Still, I would advise you to not say one thing and do the exact opposite...)

Solid game with lots to explore
My pre-school son and I finished the 1st Batman Lego and just started this one. We love busting every thing up, the ability to free play, and the ability for one of the two players to drop in and out. The two player aspect is what sells it for us. I also feel the game is challenging for adults, I love the graphics. They added a split screen feature that ends the screen pulls from Batman 1. The game encompasses all 4 of the Pirates Movies in different maps of the same game and the programmers devised all sorts of clever ways to represent them. Good but be warn the issue in it.
While I give it 5-stars be warn that the PS3 version seems to have been released with a lot of bugs. This is the 3rd time buying this game and it froze in a few places. The first being the final level in the 4th movie, the second being the second level in the 4th movie and the 3rd being when you try and change the color on the clock in the area on the left. I Googled it and it seems a lot of people have that problem so again the PS3 version has a lot of bugs that comes with it. A Terrific Game for Both Young and Old
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game is one of the many games in the Tt games/LEGO series. This game is by far the best in that series. At first glance, LEGO Pirates looks like just another kiddie attempt to bring yet another famous film franchise in LEGO form. After starting the first level, it becomes much, much more. LEGO Pirates has many different gameplay changes from past LEGO games. For instance instead of just blasting your way through most levels, LEGO Pirates has intricate puzzles which require thought, and relies more on creative level design than mindless combat. However, sometimes these puzzles backfire as occassionaly they are nearly impossible to figure out, not because they are challenging however, just because a certain step was not clearly marked. No more bland battles, as a sword fight in LEGO Pirates resembles, well an actual swordfight. The characters are cute, as always, and somehow Tt games managed to capture Captain Jack Sparrow's signature walk and hand gestures. Most of the costumes are spot on with the movies, however a few are not as close to their movie counterparts as others (I'm looking your way Davy Jones). The graphics are solid, and actually look surprisingly good. The story is also told very well, as it is very funny to see LEGO's take on famous Pirates of the Caribbean moments. All-in-all LEGO Pirates is a great game. In addition to entertaining LEGO fans and kids, it is also a highly fun and entertaining ride for mature gamers. If you are a fan or have been a fan of LEGOs in the past, this is a great game to purchase. If you are or have been a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in the past, this is a great game to purchase. If you are of have been a fan of both series, this is an excellent game to purchase. For any price I would reccomend this game to any age of gamers.
