About this product

Product Information

Bomberman, Hudson Soft's unlikely explosives expert, is the star of Bomberman Generation -- the first title in the long-running series to appear on GameCube. The single-player portion of the title requires the little fellow to explore and uncover the exit in various themed settings taking place underwater, in the jungle, and in the desert, among others. <br><br>Blocking his path are a variety of explosion-oriented puzzles that require Bomberman to throw, kick, and remotely detonate bombs. More passive uses, such as stacking bombs to create makeshift bridges, will also be needed should Bomberman wish to recover the bomb elements before the evil Hige Hige gang. By competing in and winning mini-games hidden in the world, he will obtain one of the four elemental attributes of Water, Ice, Wind, and Light. Each bomb can be infused with these elements to create stronger versions.<br><br>New to the franchise is the inclusion of Charabombs: creatures Bomberman can "equip," imbuing the hero with a particular ability. New Charabombs can be acquired by allowing them to battle one another in a fashion reminiscent of Nintendo's Pokémon games. Additionally, it's possible to synthesize new creatures by combining the traits of two existing Charabombs in Bomberman's possession. By exploding pots scattered around the environments, players can acquire food for their little helpers, allowing them to rise in level and power. <br><br>Unlike the single-player aspect of the title, the multiplayer mode returns to the series' 2D roots. Up to four players can compete in one of eight unique arenas, each possessing its own distinct look and feel. Interactive elements within each stage include patches of grass that grow throughout the battle, eventually obscuring the bombs; arrow pads that change the direction of the bombs' movement; and pipes that transport bombs to different parts of the arena.<br><br>The game also includes a smattering of new modes: Standard, Reversi, Coin, Dodge, and Revenge. In Reversi mode, bomb explosions cause the floor tile to change to the color of the player who threw the bomb. The object is to be the person with the most colored tiles when time runs out. Revenge mode finds players circling the arena in tank-like crafts, trying to kill moles appearing within the playing field. Coin mode litters each arena with coin-filled barrels to blast and collect, but any player hit by a blast will lose coins. Bombs fall from the heavens in Dodge mode, and the last player alive is declared the winner.

    Love this game!

This game is great! I remember playing it in my teens and bought it to play with my four year old. He enjoys the story game and the controls are not too difficult or complicated for his small hands and ability. I'm excited to play multi player with him.

  • Bomberman Generation

A fun throwback to the original in 2 player mode, the 1 player mode has a whole different feel to it. as you progress, you can get power ups to increase the amount of bombs you can drop, power of the bombs, and the speed you run, to a certain extent. you also have attribute bombs, that can be used in water, to freeze objects, or even bombs that explode with Light. to help you on your quest is the Charabomb, which is; in my opinion; a Pokemon-esque creature that in certain points you must use to battle to get another charabomb. each one has special traits that allow you to place bombs in ways you could before, such as remote-controlled detonation, or even the ability to bounce on your bombs when you jump on them. i only felt that the game was too linear, and that everything you gained in it ...

  • old school bomberman replacement

Mega Bomberman = "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Bomberman" Bomberman Generation = "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bomberman_Generation" I bought this game as a replacement for the old school Mega Bomberman and for the multiplayer mode only. My sister and I used to play Mega Bomberman all the time as kids so I wanted to replace it. It served the purpose of replacing it for me and I am happy. The multiplayer mode in this game is identical to Mega Bomberman although there are also several other modes to choose from as outlined on the second link above. The only difference is that it doesn't have the louies in which you could ride and gain a special skill. I have yet to play the single player mode and I doubt I will. The graphics are somewhat lame for a Gamecube game and the overall ...

  • Definitely not the "old" bomberman

This is not the old bomberman, the graphics and especially the colors, are exceptional. This game requires puzzle solving skill and patience. There are several worlds to conquer, each with several levels. The game is played in first person so you are in control of the characters movements and actions. I liked the old bomberman but I really like this bomberman and would classify it as an adventure game.

  • Missed this game

Omg it’s been eight years since I last played this game. Still holds up and fun and compelling
