Gorgeous Leather Crafts by Kari Lee
I first observed the author on Carol Duvall's craft program demonstrating how to make items from her book. She was on several shows and captured my interest as I am learning to cut patterns into leather for various uses. The book starts at the beginning on how to select and purchase the leather needed, preparing the work space, gives the basic tools needed, the process of cutting and punching leathers, dyes, stains & paints, finished and sealers, applicators, lace threads and needles,adhesives and assembly. It has given me much needed insight on the how to and made the process much easier for me. The book is well laid out taking you from the beginning to the finished product and also gives you tips on what not to do. I now have sufficient understanding of the processes to tackle any ... A good "idea" book, both for techniqes and projects.
For me this was a good "idea" book, both for techniques and things to make. It's a wee bit dated so some of the articles didn't have any appeal, but I found that others can be updated and modified to suit my needs. Overall I can unequivocally state that it was worth the money that I spent on it, and I got some good project ideas from it.
