Item was as described. Very good communication from the seller. Packaged very well and arrived in first rate condition,. And, as I ordered two CDs at the same time, the seller only charged me one shipping fee. Overall, extremely good value for the money. Would absolutely buy from this seller again! Thanks, Gregg - great service!

Ordered 4 CDs. Seller offered combined shipping, but eB system did cooperate and charged full price as if individually shipped. Informed seller and SELLER MADE IT RIGHT by issuing partial refund to cover overcharge for shipping! CDs arrived quickly and it packed well. Very happy.

  • Music Ethereal - Lyrics Deeply Depressing

I saw one of the tunes from this album of 16th century John Dowland's music performed by Sting and Lutenist Edin Karamazov on a PBS Great Performances. It was so beautiful it literally moved me to tears - and that does NOT happen very often. Angels in heaven could not make more beautiful music. I bought the album because I wanted MORE. Once I got it though and followed the liner notes as the songs were sung, I thought to myself..."are ALL of these songs about loss, death and darkness? SURELY there must be some light-hearted relief tucked in SOMEWHERE!" Nope... John Dowland richly deserves his reputation as a depressive. Karamazov's incredible mastery of the lute is worth the price of admission and Sting's choir boy purity (who'dah thunk it?) of the ...

  • Boring, Redundant, Only the true zealots should buy. Gave it away.

I was expecting this to be another CD of songs by Sting. This is something entirely different. This CD, first of all contains a bunch of readings, just Sting, reading with an awesome accent. Then it has some acapella songs, he does have skill. Then it was him singing some traditional songs I have never heard of. There was one or two songs that appealed to me. The rest were songs with unusual caliber, the cadence, the wording, all foreign. Songs you can't find yourself humming. They were authentic, and historic but not catchy. The most interesting part of the entire CD was the intro note on the cover that Sting wrote about how he watched this guy, Edin, when he was just starting out and Sting blew him off, and then saw him again, later once Sting was bigtime, and how Edin then blew ...

  • Songs From the Labyrinth- review

The cd was new and an unique style of music of the 14th century revival. Of course, Sting's English accent made the music mix believable and heart felt. It is not a style of music that most modern, x-generation, picky/ trend followers would pick or prefer. It appeals to an artistic handful who are attracted to music which coaxes reminiscences of past centuries of old art styles. The cd has a bard like quality of simple lute melodies with stories of romance and chivalry before it died.

  • Songs From the Labyrinth

This medieval genre of music is quite the departure fron Sting's earlier pop albums. However, the melodies are intricate, complex, and provide a great sense of atmosphere and history for the discerning listener. Liner notes to CD explain further the history behind these songs of rustic beauty, some of which were written by the late John Dowland.

  • Great value. Great sound

This is a great cd. Come on, it is Sting through and through. Wonderful nuances and that voice. Great and fun as well.
