Made For a Better Golfer Than Me
My previous device was a garment as 20. I liked everything about it except the charging cable hookup and no touchscreen. The S40 has all the features I wanted that the S20 doesn't but it does not detect my last shot regularly as I don't contact the ball with enough power to activate the automatic Last Shot measurement. Except for viewing manually on the S20. I had no issue with this feature. I like the ability to change the pin location on the green. Not worth the money.
It does not track heart rate. You cannot turn off the phone connect/disconnect reminder. You can answer your phone on the S40 but you can't talk thru the watch. For the cost of this watch it should be easier to manage. This is a replacement for an X40 which went bad. The X40 is a much better unit. So far this has worked OK for golf which is the main reason I bought it.

Battery life and dark display
Battery drains more rapidly than my S20 did. The display is at 30% brightness which it warns will drain the battery faster. Maybe the color display drains the battery?

Great features and very accurate.
Very good golf watch, very accurate on the distances. I wish it provided a hole flyover to see the layout of the hole but it tell you where every hazards are placed.
